Description

These Terry's Chocolate Orange Cookies are a chocolatey dream come true! Soft, chewy, and packed with the iconic zesty orange flavor


Ingredients

What you’ll need:

  • 125 g unsalted butter (softened)
  • 100 g granulated sugar
  • 100 g light brown sugar
  • 1 medium egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
  • Zest of 1 large orange (or 1 tsp orange extract)
  • 25 g cocoa powder
  • 225 g plain flour
  • ½ tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 250 g Terry’s Chocolate Orange (chopped)


Instructions

Preheat the oven:

  1. Set your oven to 190°C (170°C fan) and line 2-3 large baking trays with parchment paper.

Cream the butter and sugars:

  1. In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and light brown sugar together until creamy and smooth.

Add wet ingredients:

  1. Mix in the egg, vanilla extract (if using), and orange zest or extract until everything is combined.

Incorporate dry ingredients:

  1. Sift in the cocoa powder, plain flour, bicarbonate of soda, baking powder, and salt. Mix until a dough forms.

Fold in the chocolate:

  1. Stir in the chopped Terry’s Chocolate Orange pieces, making sure they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.

Portion the dough:

  1. Scoop the dough into balls (around 5cm in size) and place them on the prepared trays, leaving space between each for spreading.

Bake the cookies:

  1. Bake the trays of cookies in the oven for 10-12 minutes until the edges are set but the centers are soft.

Add extra chocolate (optional):

  1. Immediately after removing from the oven, press a segment of Terry’s Chocolate Orange onto each cookie for extra indulgence.

Cool the cookies:

  1. Allow the cookies to cool on the trays for about 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
